I haven’t started on A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness yet, but I’m really excited to check this book out, especially after hearing so many good things about this book!

I just finished reading The Martian by Andy Weir and man, did I have a blast reading this book!  I just loved the space setting of this book and I also loved the fact that the main character Mark Watney was such a inventive and hilarious character as he tried to survive in Mars’ dangerous atmosphere, while still cracking jokes about the whole thing.  I found this book to be pretty entertaining and creative and I hope to read more science fiction books like this again!

The first book I wanted to read is “This Savage Song” by Victoria Schwab since I just checked this book out from the library and I can’t wait to read this book!  The next book I wanted to read is  “Heartless” by Marissa Meyer, since that has been on my TBR list for awhile now and I wanted to read another book by Marissa Meyer! The last book I wanted to read is “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline since I just recently bought this book and after hearing so many good things about this book, I really want to read it as soon as possible!

  1. You’ve got some fantastic books on your list this week. A Monster Calls is one of my all time favourites and I really enjoyed Heartless and This Savage Song too. I wasn’t as keen on Ready Player One but I’m in the minority on that.

Still haven’t read the Martian but I do love the film so I will get to it at some point. I have read Weir’s new book Artemis and really enjoyed it. It doesn’t get as great reviews as The Martian but is definitely worth a read.

  2. Great lineup! I want to read A Monster Calls as well! Everyone seems to love that one!

I though The Martian fun! I was not expecting there to be so much humour. Ready Player One is one of my all time favourites and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

  3. Both The Martian, A Monster Calls and This Savage Song are on my list of all time favorites! I hope you will enjoy them. And I’m hoping to read Ready Player One some time soon as well… Happy reading!

  4. I loved The Martian too…have you seen the movie? I thought it was a really good adaptation which stuck close to the book and Matt Damon was a great choice for Watney.
I’ve also read A Monster Calls…it didn’t make me cry like most people 🙂
