Spotlight Saturday #1: January 30, 2016

spotlight-saturday

Hey everyone! Spotlight Saturday is a weekly meme hosted by Josie at Josie’s Book Corner , which is dedicated to spotlighting and pinpointing some of the activities over the week that has caught anyone’s attention or things we loved during that week.

Hello everyone! This is the very first time I had participated in Josie’s Spotlight Saturday meme and I’m excited to give this meme a whirl!  Everything is going fine so far, although I’m still looking for another job that would pay off my ever growing debt in student loans.  Wish me luck in finding a new job!

East of the Sun West of the Moon by D.J. MacHale

East of the Sun West of the Moon (1991)

This beautiful Scandinavian tale about a young woman who treks across the dangerous land that lies east of the sun, west of the moon to find her beloved prince who has been cursed by an evil troll queen has earned the honor of being the book of the week!  Max Von Sydow’s haunting narration, Vivienne Flesher’s gorgeous artwork and Lyle Mays’ uplifting music are an added bonus to this book!

Does watching the complete first season of The Flash counts?  I honestly just love that show and the way the stories are unfolding and all the characters are greatly portrayed just made my week a better time!

Well, that’s all for my week of Spotlight Saturday!

What were your spotlights for this week?
